1 We Listen

An independent insurance broker had a highly specific, time-consuming weekly routine. To keep his business running, he needed data from multiple different insurance carrier portals. Every week, he would manually log into each website, navigate through clumsy menus, download the raw data files, and manually input the numbers into a custom Excel dashboard he had built. It was a mindless, frustrating chore that took up a large chunk of his valuable selling time.

2 We Audit

We analyzed his workflow and initially proposed three solutions: 1) A browser agent to auto-login and scrape the data, 2) A script to format and inject that data into his existing Excel sheet, and 3) Building a brand-new, robust web dashboard to replace Excel entirely. The client reviewed the options and made a smart operational decision: he loved his Excel dashboard and didn't want the chore of learning a new tool. He just wanted the data collection automated.

3 We Design

Design a background system that respects the client's current workflow without forcing new software adoption. Two micro-automations: one AI browser agent capable of navigating authenticated carrier portals to scrape the required files, and a data-processing script that automatically structures the raw data and inputs it directly into his existing beloved Excel dashboard.

4 We Implement

Authenticated Browser Agent

  • Logs into multiple portals
  • Navigates complex menus
  • Identifies weekly reports
  • Runs reliably on weekends

Excel Data Pipeline

  • Extracts numbers from files
  • Formats to specific layout
  • Injects directly to sheet
  • Preserves custom formulas

The Result

The broker continues to use the exact same Excel dashboard he's comfortable with, but he never has to feed it manually again. Every Monday morning, he simply opens his file and the new data is already there, giving him hours back to focus on client relationships and sales.
